Dear pilot friends and colleagues - your input to this questionnaire is greatly appreciated, and we would like to thank you for your time that you spend on it.

Determine the most suitable runway for a safe takeoff based on the specified meteorological conditions and ATC clearance. Choose between RWY04 and RWY31. We would appreciate if you provide a concise explanation to your answers. Use the attached charts, or any other charts and airport information available to your disposal. Taxi distance to the runway is not to be considered in the decision-making process for the first questions.
Assume that the wind is within the limitations of your aircraft for every runway with the exception of RWY 13 due to the tailwind component. RWY 22 in BTS is not used for departures unless under exceptional circumstances.
There are no NOTAMs that affect the runways, departure profiles or radio-navigational aids.

2. If the wind in the task changed to 320/14, gusts max 29 knots, would you choose a different runway?

3. You are delayed by 4 hours and on the limits of your duty. Taxiing to RWY 04 reduces taxi time by 5 minutes in comparison to RWY 31. Would this alter your original decision?

4. The engine failure procedure for all runways with the exception of RWY 31 is “continue straight ahead”, since terrain is not a factor. The engine failure procedure for RWY 31 involves an early right turn by almost 180 degrees due to terrain just north of the airport. Would this alter your original decision?
